The Benefit of Doing More Research
Maybe you should buy more impulsively.
I know, I know. That’s not what the financial pornography networks tell you to do.
But sometimes, endlessly analyzing a potential purchase causes more pain than gain.
Look, I’m not talking about massive life-changing expenditures. A new car or a house? Please, do the research there!
But when it comes to smaller decisions—whether to get the $5 bag of granola or the $7 bag; whether to get the fancy wool ski socks or the cheaper synthetic ones; Starbucks coffee or the heady, rainforest-friendly microbrew—consider this permission to just pick one.
Don’t agonize over it any longer. Just choose and move on.
For extra credit, pay attention to how that purchase made you feel, and then try to remember that feeling next time. Maybe the cheaper coffee is the way to go for you. Or maybe you believe in shade-grown enough to spend the extra cash every time.
IT'S NOT SO MUCH ABOUT WHICH COFFEE YOU CHOOSE, AS IT IS THAT YOU JUST CHOOSE AND MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE. BECAUSE LIFE IS SHORT AND THERE ARE BETTER WAYS TO SPEND YOUR TIME.
